Welcome to XGames, a mobile application that provides access to retro-style games through categorized emulation-based sections. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency regarding data usage and permissions.

1. No Personal Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or share any personal information from users. This includes:

  1.   Names
  2.   Email addresses
  3.   Contact lists
  4.   Photos or videos
  5.   GPS/location data
  6.   Call logs or messages

Your usage of XGames is completely anonymous.

2. All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

The app requests MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE only when the user manually triggers a specific feature within the app:

“Reset and Free up Space”

This feature is designed to:

  1.   Help the user delete all downloaded game files.
  2.   Free up device storage by removing a folder created by the app.

Important:

  1.   The permission is not requested on launch.
  2.   It is requested only at the moment the user chooses to activate this feature.
  3.   The app does not access any personal files.
  4.   Only files downloaded via XGames (e.g., games under /XGames/ROMs/) are affected.

3. App Detection (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)

The app uses QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission solely to:

  1.  Check if a specific emulator app (linked to a game section) is installed on the device.

This is essential for enabling gameplay. These emulators are fetched dynamically from our backend API.

We do not collect or transmit a list of installed apps or use this permission for profiling.

4. File Storage

  1.  Downloaded games are stored in the app’s private directory.
  2.  The user can remove these files using the “Reset and Free up Space” feature.
  3.  The app does not access any unrelated files or directories.

5. In-App Advertising

XGames displays ads using Google AdMob, which may include:

  1.  Banner ads
  2.  Interstitial ads
  3.  Rewarded video ads
  4.  Native (inline) ads

AdMob may collect anonymous data such as your device advertising ID to personalize or serve non-personalized ads.

6. Dynamic Content from API

All content in the app (game titles, images, emulator links, etc.) is loaded dynamically from a remote API.

  1.  The app fetches only metadata for display and functionality.

7. Emulator Use & Game Launching

  1.  The app does not contain any emulators.
  2.  When launching a game, the app checks if the relevant emulator is installed.
  3.  If not, the user is redirected to a trusted external source (URL provided via API) to download the emulator.
  4.  Emulators are not installed automatically.

8. Internet Usage

Internet access is used only for:

  1.  Loading game data dynamically from the API.
  2.  Displaying advertisements.
  3.  Checking for updates.

The app does not communicate with any other external servers or services.

9. Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be communicated through the app or the store listing.
